Fourteen candidates were lucky to participate in the Pretesting of ICFE exam on December, 19.
The pretest was held at the premises of Financial and Business English School which has been recently approved by University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations as a center for pretesting.
‘We’ve been lucky to get this golden opportunity to house the Pretest at the premises of our School and to get much valuable experience in holding tests of this level. It’s been a challenge to simulate the exam conditions during the pretest so that the candidates could feel they were taking a real exam.
All in all, I suppose we’ve managed to re-create the exam conditions and the candidates have gained good experience in completing answer sheets in a ‘test-like’ environment. As they said after the event, the Pretest gave them an opportunity to overcome the ‘exam’ stress and to see the areas that may need some further study or practice.
This is what the candidates say about the event:
| Nagornyak Igor, | ‘Having taken this exam, I felt even more confident about the knowledge in Financial English I have already got. I think I’m ready to take this exam in February and I hope to pass it. Of course, the Pretest has showed a few areas I need to look into before the exam. In fact, I’ve been very glad to take the Pretest as I’ve gained some valuable experience while being in the exam environment.’ |

The participation in the Pretest has helped us to further develop our knowledge of assessment issues and we are really happy to be an active part of Cambridge ESOL’s programme!
